Quartz countertops cost $95–$150 per square foot installed in South Florida, including templating, fabrication, an eased edge, the sink cutout and installation. A typical 50–65 sq ft kitchen lands around $4,750–$9,750, and a bathroom vanity top swap runs $1,500–$3,500 each. The spread comes from the quartz line, edge profile and how many seams the layout needs. Our stone slab and countertop installation team handles residential kitchens; condo and multifamily owners can use our commercial countertops and slabs service.

Removal and haul-off of the old tops, plumbing disconnect and reconnect, and any cabinet leveling show as their own lines on the estimate so you can see them. Quartzite, a natural stone that is often confused with quartz, runs higher at $130–$200 per square foot.

What moves the price within the range

  • Quartz line. Entry colors with a simple pattern sit near $95. Marble-look slabs with long, through-body veining sit near the top.
  • Slab count. A 65 sq ft kitchen may fit on one jumbo slab or need two. The second slab is where many budgets jump.
  • Edge profile. Eased and small bevel are included. Mitered waterfall and thick mitered edges add fabrication time.
  • Cutouts. One undermount sink cutout is standard. Cooktop, second sink, faucet holes and outlets add a little each.
  • Island overhang. Seating overhangs past about 10 inches need hidden steel supports or corbels.
  • Access. High-rise condos with a freight elevator schedule, long carries or stairs add labor.

How a quartz install runs

  1. Measure and select. We confirm cabinet layout, sink model and appliance specs before you pick the slab.
  2. Template. After cabinets are set and level, we template with a digital or physical template. Sinks and cooktops must be on site.
  3. Fabrication. Slabs are cut, seams placed where the veining hides them, edges polished.
  4. Removal. Old tops come off the day of install, with the plumbing disconnected.
  5. Install. Tops set on shims, seams joined with color-matched epoxy and leveled, sink mounted, backsplash edge sealed.
  6. Reconnect. Faucet and disposal reconnected by the plumber we coordinate.

Quartz in a South Florida kitchen

Heat. Quartz is resin-bound. A pot straight off the burner can mark it; trivets are a habit worth keeping.

Sun. West-facing windows over a counter can fade some quartz colors over time. Outdoor kitchens need a different material; quartz is not rated for direct sun.

Condo rules. Building management usually wants a certificate of insurance and an elevator reservation. We provide the COI naming the association.

Old cabinets. Many Broward and Palm Beach kitchens from the 1990s have cabinets out of level by 1/4 inch or more. We shim and correct before templating; quartz will not bend to fit.

How to compare two quartz quotes

Line them up on the same square footage first. Fabricators measure differently: some round each piece up, some include the backsplash strip, some quote by slab. Ask each one for the countertop area and the slab count.

Then check what is inside the price:

  • Template, fabrication and installation in one number, or split
  • Edge profile named in writing
  • Sink cutout and faucet holes counted
  • Removal and haul-off of the old tops
  • Plumbing disconnect and reconnect, and who does it
  • Seam locations marked on a drawing
  • Overhang supports for the island, if you have seating

A noticeably lower quote often leaves out removal or the plumber, and those costs come back on install day.

Timeline

  • Selection and template: 1 visit after cabinets are set
  • Fabrication: typically 1–2 weeks
  • Removal and install: 1 day for most kitchens
  • Plumbing reconnect: same or next day

Plan on being without a kitchen sink for about 24 hours.
